The work done within the organization is controlled by Enterprise Environmental Factors (EEF) and Organizational Process Assets (“Enterprise Environmental Factors (EEF) & Organizational Process Assets (OPA) | PM Study Circle”,2020). With one approach or idea, you cannot deal with all the factors operating within the organization but you can rearrange or reconstruct the regulations wherein EEF deals with all the policies and practices that exist within the organization whether it is inside or outside. Enterprise Environmental Factors refers to a condition that can handle, motivate, and influence the team working for the project. EEF can bring positive changes to the structure of the project (Rinaldi, 2020). With the help of Enterprise Environmental Factors, projects can be designed on the basis of related opportunities or threats within the country. A project manager should have a broad understanding of both internal and external factors and conditions, which will increase their understanding to understand the organizational strategy that could develop the plans and strategies to handle any situation or to have strong project management. As said earlier, enterprise environmental factors can be internal or external but the assets are always internal within an organization.
The word ‘environment’ means anything which is natural which is not in our control similarly enterprise environmental factors (EEF) are the factors that are not under the control of the organization or under the control of the team which is addressing the project management (Fichtner, 2020). It affects the organization, its project, and the desired outcome. Every organization has to work with all these factors. These factors may have positive as well as negative impacts on project management. The factors can be external and internal.
Types of Organization Structure-
There are many types of politics actively going within the organization that can be only experienced by the client while working within the organization. There are a number of rules and regulations a company forms within the organization. Even if the rules are not liked by many, they still have to accept it while working in the organization may influence the culture within the organization. It can also change the objectives of the company.
Organizations introduced many standards within the organization that could help the company to achieve objectives such as:-
Stakeholders will expect the quality standards of the products and services. Suppliers and partners work together to form a specific standard as an important factor to run a business. Stakeholders can be an individual or a group that is affected by the positive or negative decision responsible for the outcome of the Project. Stakeholders can be a sponsor, the customer, the leader, the manager, the business partner. It is said that a sponsor is just a part of the project but holds all the power within the project. Stakeholder or sponsor will make sure that the team will get everything what they need and by which they can make the project successful (Landau & Landau, 2020).
Small or medium-sized businesses are subjected to some laws and regulations related to the employment. There are the laws applied to Interstate borders in context to international business and so on.
While working on a project it is important to face the obstacles and problems to plan strategic management planning that should be controlled. These are known as Environmental Enterprises factors. You should be aware of all the factors within the organization in order to plan the project and to achieve the desired result. A project manager should always include the Enterprise environmental factors for successful planning. Conditions are always worked opposite the positive sides for example the culture of the organization, the political climate of the organization, the marketplace conditions. The standards of government affect the project but one needs to control the situation. It is said that the political climate is very important for the projects and can affect the business. It is said that the Enterprise Environmental Factors in consideration.
Here, it is understood that there are both internal and external factors of Enterprise environmental factors for example corporate culture within the organization. It could be an asset as well as a liability that cause because of certain procedures, guidelines, regulations on the project such as project learning, lessons, and reports.
Environmental Enterprise factors influence the project and its outcome. The project teams hold no power to control the active activities. In this case, it is important for the project team to handle all the factors of environmental enterprise that can affect the success of the ongoing project. As per PMBOK (PMI, 2013), environmental enterprise factors are key to the process of project management.
The Reflective exercise can help to understand the experience and the learning to have a better understanding. Reflection helps to improve learning by providing it a professional structure to develop the skills and habits. A successful reflection may need self-awareness, interest, and a passion to learn. The evidence presented in front of the stakeholders must be clear and logical. This may also require appropriate strategies, clear and detailed communication with the stakeholders. Now, our economies have grown the impact on the environment similarly, many businesses have continued operating their operations on the traditional model. There are different approaches within the organization to deal with different kinds of cultures that exist in the organization. The main objective is to reuse everyone by all factors given which include all policies, procedures, and legislation that exist both inside or outside the organization.
These factors are beneficial for the organization as they come under the code of ethics. Many organizational cultures, norms, and policies are designed for successful project management. I would consider environmental enterprise factors beneficial as through this we can control the organizational environment and can reduce the barriers or the restrictions caused within the project to make it successful. The project team cannot restructure the policies made by the company however, they can ask for the related feedback and suggestions to update the policies. If the organization found it suitable for all the employees as well as the organization they can probably change it. The project management team learn and share their practices with their knowledge and experiences. It is said that these environment enterprise factors do not work for the organization in terms of improvement of the processes but they need to work in this environment to have the control of the project management team. These factors are really difficult for a change and the organization, as well as company employees, must learn to live with it. The assets of the organizational process are always in support of the team.
