In this article, the review of the significance of physical exercise is discussed by the authors with its role in the reduction of childhood post-traumatic stress disorder as well as including depression and anxiety. The primary purpose of the given article is to find out the impact of physical activities in terms of an intervention strategy for PTSD which is also evident to be linking back to emotional concerns of depression found in children and infants. At this point in the article, exercise is essential in the reduction of PTSD in infants, and the need for training to reduce the level of anxiety and depression is also focused. After observations and demonstration of the link between PTSD and regular physical activities, the study took place to check if depression, anxiety, and PTSD can be recovered with the exercise program involving adolescents. Females from the female residential centers were also recruited for PTSD. Studies that have already been done show that exercise is a very effective way, but more research is also needed. More research showed that there are correlations between reducing anxiety and activity. Berk (2007) presented the few exercise strategies which were exercised with anxious children and adolescents, and it suggested that exercise is highly effective in the reduction of anxiety and measures of practice are reliable. The results of the studies indicated that it benefited them both physically and mentally. On the whole, after a lot of researches, it was seen that exercise helped in eliminating anxiety.
People who are depressed and experience a lack of interest in the usual activities of life and a lot of research are also conducted to reduce depression. It increases the risk of physical and mental illness. Also, for the treatment of depression, physical activities and medication are a great alternative. Physical exercises improve the mood, and people with healthy activities are seen to be less depressed and both physically and mentally active. All these facts are gathered after doing a lot of research on depression, which showed a meaningful decrease in depression. Still, there was also some researches done found that that there is no positive role of exercise and healthy activities in reducing depression. On the whole, the investigations on depression showed a significant negative relationship between physical activities and depression.
So, it is evident from the researches done in the article that physical activities help in reducing anxiety, but in the case of depression, it is not so helpful.
