There is support that has been made with the claim of mental health declining during covid-19 pandemic as it has been seen that there are several information that has been received that has helped us in understanding the mental health issue that are faced by students and workers due to pandemic situation. The pressure on the labour market has been reduced by 50% due to upsurge in infection and following social distancing norms (Arora & Grey, 2020). The health management department make sure to provide proper guidance and counselling to improve the wellbeing of the employees. To control the contamination, schools, colleges, and offices are closed (Sahoo et al., 2020). A survey of 1500 students revealed that 13% of students had experienced delayed graduation, 40% of them had lost jobs or internships and 29% of the 35 years expected to earn less (Aucejo et al., 2020). The job losses have escalated nearly half of the workplace globally following the loss of livelihood. Mental health is important for the healthy working of the body and maintaining efficiency in the workplace. There are other factors as well that may include caring for a loved one, substance abuse, and violence (Duan & Zhu, 2020). The workplace environment during COVID 19 is very vulnerable. In a survey done by Pfefferbaum & North, (2020), out of 190 students, 135 students displayed the symptoms of anxiety and stress due to the outbreak of the pandemic. The issues of health that are faced by the employees are anxiety and depression. Suicidal tendencies are also seen in many workers (Rajkumar, 2020). The concern for feeding the family is the major setback that the person receives.
The claim that has been made in this argument is that the mental health of students and worker is declining during pandemic situation are accepted and impactful.
