Field Studies in Tropical Land and Water Science - Question 6

Wet or water logges soil is expected to have higher gaseous loss of nitrogen via denitrification. Nitrogen demand is often supplied as commercial nitrogen fertilizer due to low nitrogen content in most soil plants. Nitrogen requirements of more than one hundred and fifty pounds for each acre are usually allocated into two or more uses. Nevertheless, merely the nitrogen of the harvested crop actually leaves the field. Plant nitrogen residues return to the soil as plant residues and transfer the cycle as organic nitrogen. Aerobic loss of nitrogen is caused by the rejection or volatilization of ammonia.

Field Studies in Tropical Land and Water Science - Question 8

The soluble inorganic nitrogen (DIN) movement of farms has been introduced internationally and is one of the highest water quality in Australia. The Great Barrier Reef (GBR) best DIN runoff rate is thought to be responsible for the increase in phytoplankton (10 ×) which increases the survival rate of crown-of-thorns starfish (Acanthaster planci) and increases the outbreak stage of crown-of-thorns. it is anticipated that crown-of-thorns have produced a reduction of twenty one per cent in terms of GBR between 1985-2012. Catching affected by sugarcane production has the highest DIN flow concentration compared to other non- agricultural as well as agricultural land uses. To protect GBR, a standard coral wall planning program has been implemented by the government of Australia to reduce the anthropological GBR load by 50% by increasing land management practices. Since the concentration of DIN is highest and close to GBR, several experiments have been carried out to monitor the DIN released from sugarcane cultivation to support the main focus program of the government initiative to manage nitrogen fertilizer sugarcane farms.

Sugar in Australia ranges from tropical to tropical tropics to sub-summer (e.g. southern region, children) up to 880 mm. Affected by the El Nino-southern oscillation and the Pacific Ocean decade, this region has simultaneous rainfall changes (average coefficient of change 34%) in all regions. Heavy monsoon years can affect runways and so load loading of components should be the main focus to control production. Also, sugarcane yields can be disposed of due to reduced radiation from the sun in waterlogged or wet conditions. Thus, the nitrogen requirement of sugarcane is also potentially reduced, especially in wet years.

Australian sugarcane wheat practice is a 5-6 year cycle. The trees are cut in 12 to 13 months. After each harvest, the crop is re-established from the same rootstock (ratoning) after the third or fourth return. After going to the last stage, the soil is beaten with soybeans or gopas as autumn or glue. Nitrogen (N) fertilizers are usually applied twice at the planting stage, initially at planting (e.g. 30 kg N / ha) and 3 months after planting (e.g. 130 kg N / ha) depending on productivity in the upper region during the monsoon crop season. Fertilizer is applied at the rate of 130-200 kg n / ha at a time. Fertilizer application is usually done at intervals of 5 months from late winter (August) to early summer (December). Field-measured DIN is an opportunity to identify the key effects of sugarcane handling methods on DNA load. However, for most sugarcane tests (and test analyzes), only the DIN runoff path was measured per day. Processes such as fertilizer conversion, soil stability / mineralization, enrichment, rejection, and plans have not been measured or rarely measured. Thus, the development of the daily DIN runoff loss model of the dataset does not represent the various nitrogen processes in the soil. However, this experimental study provides information on the level of fertilizer application since application, the form of fertilizer, the time and the level of regular DIN concentration in rainfall.
