The updates over the H-1B visa have been positive this year for the international students. The former president set a visa ban for the United States, and the latest president Joe Biden let that ban expire in March. It has restored the hope of the graduates who desire to work in the US.

The graduates in the OPT or the Optional Practical Training programme have also applied for the H-1B visa for continuing their work and stay in the United States. Here are the updates related to the H-1B visa:

  • The USCIS or US Citizenship and Immigration Services introduce the second lottery for the H-1B visa hopefuls who missed the first cut. USCIS explained that historical data related to the denials and approvals would be used to determine the number of H-1B visas issued in the given year.
  • The H-1B visa will enable the international graduates with three years of working permit in the US. These students are largely from India and China who are master’s degree holders and fill up the technology positions in the US companies. In the recent draws, the H-1B visa updates have had high approval rates.
