The pandemic has hit the entire world to its core and the impact can be seen everywhere. In the US the enrollment of international students dropped by 72% during the school year 2020-2021. This report has been out after the student that was conducted by the immigration expert boundless.

The data from the SEVP or the Student and Exchange Visitors Program have revealed that 1.25 million international students were in the US last year. And this year is 17.86 % lower than the 2019-2020 batch of the academic year.

The report also mentioned that a majority of this drop has been experienced due to the COVID -19 situations. But even before the pandemic began the decrement of international students' enrolment was a witness in the US. This was due to the decline and delays of visas, restrictive immigration policies, etc under the previous president Donald trump. There is also tough competition among US and other countries universities and colleges which also is responsible for the fall of international students.

Mexico, Japan, Brazil, India, South Korea, Canada, Saudi Arabia, Taiwan, China, and Vietnam are some of the topmost countries from the international students who were enrolled in the US last year.
