The United Kingdom has a list of 60 countries and territories that are on their red list.

These are those countries where if an individual/student wishes to travel, will have to undergo 10 days of Hotel quarantine on their return. The British government is updating its list every ten days with the names updated every three weeks.

It is the countries’ attempt to check and ensure no COVID -19 patient enters the country without a medical screening or the two essential jabs to check the COVID-19 delta variants’ outbreak.

Some of the travel announcements are likely to change from green --the safe zone, to red --the unsafe zones for restricted travel in the coming days.

Among the safe zone, the list has European nations including Germany, which have worked very well in administering vaccines to ensure appropriate safety for its population.

Countries likely to go red in the UK list are Morocco, St Lucia and Jamaica. While Croatia, Slovenia and Madeira are on their steady journey from Red to Green.

There is bad news for several Caribbean holiday destinations too. Antigua, Barbuda and Dominica are likely to lose their green status, while Israel makes it appear almost certain to revert to amber from green.
