In the Independent Higher Education Conference, held on 12th October 2021, delegates were reminded of the government's plan to increase the number of international students in the UK to 600,000. It will help the government to achieve the goal of education export that is £35bn.

Rupert Daniels, the director of the Department of International Trade, said that the education export is of £23.3bn currently. He further added that the government is considering the UK Edtech as key to achieving the goal of £35bn. As the pandemic acts as an inflexion point in the enormous shift of education on online mode, so the potential in this field is quite high to upscale the education export.

The other delegate David Lefevre, director of Imperial College Edtech Lab and founder of the Insendi, said that Malaysia, India, and China are accrediting online education. So, it is obvious for the online degree market to grow.
