Two UK cultural organizations have acquired items belonging to Professor Stephen Hawking, ranging from seminal works on theoretical physics to Simpsons scripts.

Prof Hawking's trove of scientific and personal documents will remain at Cambridge University Library thanks to a remarkable acceptance in lieu (AIL) arrangement between the university library, the Science Museum Group, and the UK government. Prof Hawking's writings have now been added to those of Sir Isaac Newton and Charles Darwin, thanks to Cambridge's acquisition of the 10,000-page archive.
