Australian colleges and universities are unhappy with the way the Government is treating thousands of international students who are aspiring to complete their higher education here. A survey, involving more than 400 private institutions, showed that 80 percent of them support the Government’s handling of the pandemic. But according to the research conducted by Angela Rehmann, Head of Research for international education consultancy, The Lygon Group, international students are more just than confused due to the constantly changing immigration policies and other range of issues. Through her research, she further revealed that both the Government and Institutions are presenting contradicting messages. It is extremely difficult to agree to either news as both are contradicting each other. Students are not only frustrated but also angry, which is evident on social media. Many are calling Australia as ‘scammers’ because of the misleading messages put up by the authorities. Students have also started encouraging their peers to apply to other destinations such as the UK and Canada as the policies are in an equilibrium.
