The government announced this on June 21 and this rule will be effective from July 5. The international students need to provide proof that they have had both doses of vaccine. This will save them from being quarantined and from taking the COVID-19 test.

The four vaccines that have been approved by the Canadian government are Pfizer, Janssen (Johnson & Johnson), AstraZeneca, and Moderna. But students must have the plan for the quarantine also ready as plan B. In case the officials at the border find that the student does not meet the required criteria, then they need to go for quarantine.

This new rule has been welcomed by the UBC international students. The fully vaccinated students who are happy with this decision said that now their families will be able to afford their traveling.
