New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern said all non-citizens must get fully vaccinated before they enter the country. Experts believe this is the best prevention measure that is the most effective against the spread of COVID-19, which could also lead to serious illness or death of the person. As per the current policy, only non-citizens with critical purposes are allowed to travel to New Zealand. They will first have to submit the proof of vaccination when registering with the Managed Isolation Allocation System. Those travelling to the country will have to produce a negative COVID-19 report within 72 hours of their scheduled arrival. While the Government will lift some restrictions on international travel by Christmas, they will also enforce a mandatory 14-day quarantine in designated hotels. It is also predicted that cases could surge and so the authorities are preparing their community facilities and hospital-level care to tackle the uncertain situations.
