International Travel in US Ramps Up, But Still Behind the Pre-Pandemic Level

The Institute of International Education has released their latest report of international student enrollment in American colleges and universities. It has been revealed that there is a 4 per cent increase in the overall enrollments this fall, but it is still lower than last year’s figure -- 15%. According to the data, this is the steepest decline over the last 60 years since the first report was revealed in 1948. The international students are travelling to the US in a large number but the results also show that many have been reluctant to study abroad even after the restrictions were lifted. This was because of the continued obstacles and visa rejections. US officials hope that with a gradual increase in inbound students, the growth may come closer or go past the pre-pandemic level.
