Carleton University has hiked its tuition fee again for international students by 8% this year. In 2020, the center increased its fee by 5%. It received unsatisfactory comments from thousands of students who are studying their courses or will begin their studies this fall. The body of governors, which meets annually, sets the course fee for the next academic year. In March 2020, the course fees were revised for two years together following the continuation of in-campus teaching at the university. There are several factors contributing to the rise and decline of tuition fees including recruitment strategies, impact on the existing international faculty, and comparison with other education providers. Tima Abaid, a Palestine student at Carleton University, said that the tuition fee mentioned in her offer letter was in the range of $26000 to $34000. Due to the hike in tuition fees this year, she has to pay $40000 to continue her studies at the university. Thousands of international students are struggling to cover the cost of studying, and in response to this situation, they are seeking support from the senior faculty at the university.
