The global technology provider Infosys is been joined by Victoria’s Deakin University. This collaboration is done for research and skills and innovation development. In this collaboration, Infosys will bring its “living labs” concept into the Geelong campus of Deakin’s. This initiative is taken for exploring the commercial opportunities via DeakinCo, which is the advisory arm and workplace training of the university.

Infosys described Living Labs as the model that reflects ‘innovation as a service. It combines strong design skills with emerging technology and business for helping clients with innovation.

Infosys also released a press release for the same in which it is mentioned that Living Lab will be contributing to the ecosystem in the areas of utilities, energy, ICT, and smart manufacturing. All of these are based on Deakin’s Geelong. The work with the research projects and incubator will also be processed in this collaboration. With this suffering, the market will be beamed up by new solutions. Soon both the parties will be submitting their Co-investment proposal to the state government for backing up the new venture.

This agreement will also aim to develop a talent pool for ICT, digital skills, a digital and consulting sector in consultation with the Victorian government. Deakin will also provide a Ph.D. scholarship after coordinating with Infosys in particular areas of mutual interest. Infosys will also be offering employment and internship chances to the graduates and students from Deakin.
