The US Department of Education has recently disclosed Higher Education Emergency Relief Funds (HEERF iii) for eligible students. Together, the funds under the Coronavirus Aid, Recovery, and Economic Security (CARES) Act and Coronavirus Response and Relief Supplemental Appropriations Act 2021 (CRRSAA) and along with HEERF iii total $76.2 billion. Block grants across three tiers will be distributed by the Office of Financial Aid and the Office of Finance to students based on the Expected Family Contribution (EFC).

The following are automatic payment tiers:

  • $2,650 grants for Pell grant recipients
  • $2,300 grants for students with an EFC of $0-$10,000
  • $2,000 grants for students with an EFC of $10,001-$15,000

Eligible students will receive the funds directly to their bank accounts and are encouraged to provide the latest details of their mailing addresses in UAConnect and choose their refund delivery preferences with BankMobile.
