Western University in London, Ont. warns students of a potential compromise on their campus life for the upcoming academic session in light of the recent large gatherings and parties that have been reported on multiple occasions. While there is no mention of the number of people gathered, aggressive behavior has been observed throughout some of these parties.

In a joint letter written by Western University president Alan Shepard and the University Students’ Council president Zamir Fakirani, it is clearly stated that all academic and extracurricular activities may be brought to a halt if such behavior is observed on a continual basis. Similar parties are believed to be a major reason for the spike in COVID cases during September last year. The current COVID guidelines in Ontario allow a maximum gathering of 25 people at a time. The collective effort of the university administration is to ensure the safety of students and the residents in the area.
