The patience to date of the international students finally worked out; the Government of Australia, in its Budget 2021-22, offered an indication of the return of the students later this year. The yearly Budget delivered by Treasurer Josh Frydenberg on May 11, 2021, in Parliament hinted that there is a significant chance of commencing small phased programmes by the end of the year. There will be a gradual increase from 2022. The Budget Paper No 1 in the Budget session forecasts the return of temporary and permanent immigrants in late 2021 with an increment in the number from mid-2022. However, the international students have to go through the caps like strict guidelines by state and territory and necessary quarantine measures. But such stringent measures will not be applicable for the students coming from safe travel zones. The Australian government in Budget 2021-22 presented the necessary proposals taken to encourage the badly-hit sectors like education. The Budget also apportioned a hoping sum of 53.6 million Australian Dollars to assist Australian education providers who primarily depend on international students.
