Australia: Plans for removal of 40-hours Work Limit for Student Visa Holders

Tourism and hospitality have been the most adversely affected critical areas due to the pandemic shutdowns. Students who were engaged in these occupations were struggling. Those international students who are employed in the sectors in Australia, and also hold a student’s visa will get relaxation on the 40-hours working hours. This decision has been initiated to support the recovery of the Australian economy post-Covid-19, says Immigration Minister Alex Hawke. This way, there will be employment opportunities for over half a million population of Australia and even the damage caused to the economy can be mitigated. Even the Government of Australia has announced that they will be providing financial support of over $1.2 Million on the tour packages to contribute to bringing stability to this critical sector in Australia.
