The week-long National Aboriginal and Islanders Day Observance Committee (NAIDOC) celebrations kicked off Sunday, July 4-11, 2021, Australia, wherein the theme for this year’s festival remains, “Heal country, heal our nation”.

The NAIDOC annual celebration is practiced every year just a few days before the Fall Semesters kick-off.

The week-long celebration is conducted each July to celebrate the cultural achievements of the Aboriginal and Torres Islanders of Australia.

According to the people of Australia, more robust measures need to protect all aspects of culture and heritage from exploitation, destruction, and desecration.

Each year, days are marked with cultural celebration spiritually, socially as well as emotionally with communities, local councils, schools, and workplace people participating.

The National NAIDOC Committee also rolls out the annual NAIDOC awards that take place in different cities.

The event's highlight is also the NAIDOC Poster Competition, where several schools and college students participate.

Celebrations these last two years have been in-person and virtual, wherein every member is partaking in the function all around the country this week.
