Purpose of This Agreement
This Agreement governs the responsibilities of mentors, tutors, subject experts, and academic advisors (“Mentor”, “you”) engaged with My Assignment Services (MAS) and associated platforms (“Platform”, “we”, “us”). By registering, onboarding, or delivering services on the Platform, you agree to comply fully with this Agreement.
The purpose is to:
- Protect student privacy and confidential information
- Ensure ethical, integrity-aligned academic support
- Prevent misuse of academic materials
- Maintain compliance with university, regulatory, and data protection standards
Confidential Information includes, but is not limited to:
- Student personal details (name, contact information, location)
- Academic materials shared by students (drafts, notes, data, questions)
- Session recordings, chat logs, and communications
- Platform processes, pricing, policies, and internal documentation
- Any non-public information accessed through the Platform
Mentor Obligations
- Use student information solely for delivering approved mentoring services
- Maintain strict confidentiality at all times
- Not disclose, copy, sell, publish, or reuse any student materials
- Not retain student documents beyond the service duration unless authorised
- Follow Platform academic integrity and acceptable use policies
- Deliver guidance that is educational, explanatory, and non-submissive
Academic Integrity Commitment
Mentors must provide:
- Conceptual explanations
- Structural guidance
- Feedback on student-prepared drafts
- Learning-oriented exemplars only
Mentors must not:
- Write or complete assignments for direct student submission
- Produce submission-ready academic work on behalf of students
- Encourage plagiarism, contract cheating, or misuse of AI tools
- Misrepresent authorship or academic ownership
Data Protection & Privacy
- Access only the minimum data required to perform services
- Avoid downloading or storing student data on personal devices where possible
- Use secure devices, passwords, and networks
- Immediately report any data breach or unauthorised access
- Comply with applicable data protection laws and Platform policies
Communication Restrictions
- Communicate with students only through approved Platform channels
- Use approved tools (email, platform chat, video sessions)
- Do not contact students outside authorised channels without permission
- Do not solicit personal relationships or external services
- Do not share personal contact details for off-platform work
Intellectual Property
- Platform materials, training content, and systems remain the intellectual property of the Platform
- Student-submitted content remains the property of the student
- Mentors gain no ownership rights over student work
Conflict of Interest
- Mentors must disclose any conflict of interest, including teaching or assessing the same student or prior academic/professional relationships affecting impartiality
- Platform may reassign or restrict services in case of conflicts
Breach & Consequences
- Immediate suspension or termination
- Forfeiture of pending payments
- Permanent platform removal
- Legal action or reporting where required
Term & Survival
This Agreement applies for the entire duration of mentor association. Confidentiality obligations survive termination indefinitely.
Independent Contractor Status
Mentors operate as independent contractors. Nothing in this Agreement creates an employment, partnership, or agency relationship.
Governing Law
This Agreement shall be governed by and interpreted in accordance with applicable laws in respective jurisdictions, without prejudice to international regulations.
Acceptance
By registering, onboarding, or providing services on the Platform, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to comply with this Mentor Privacy & Confidentiality Agreement.
