The University of London is proposing its two elite and track-maintaining foundations, the Institute of Commonwealth Studies and the one operating in Latin America to go to walls. With notable alumni and scholars, ICS also stood quite active during the pandemic of COVID-19 with its online seminars and conferences. Giving the back of financial squeeze, the University of London is on the verge of downgrading the UK’s global understanding with the closure of a proven center of excellence. Also, the idea of a new home is only proposed for the Institute of Latin American studies while keeping ICS devoid of it. For a foundation like ICS that is at the forefront of public concerns, the situation seems damaging and ill-considered! A reconsideration is possible and feasible.
