Introduction

Healthcare is a dynamic and complex setting that offers challenges at various time frames. It displays the need for transformation in the nursing profession. Nursing is a profession that is founded on the traditional value of caring. It is facing rapid and tumultuous changes in the healthcare system that is making the nurses find the environment more stressful and less supportive (Anderson et al., 2018). Therefore, it is crucial to make changes in the organisational culture that is allowing the nurses to be responsive to the changing needs of the healthcare settings. To tackle the challenges, it is important to create a positive and supportive environment that makes the employees feel they have the resources and assistance to accomplish their tasks. The assessment will discuss the nursing culture that may impact nursing care. It includes the components that are essential for nursing culture (Sharifi et al., 2019). Followed by nursing culture and its impact on caring principles in nursing practices that are done with the support of literature. Discussion about how nursing culture might impact the professional practices of registered nurses is taken into consideration and at last life long learning. It makes the nurses empathise, relates with the patients and attend to their needs deeply. It creates the nurses to come out from the background and provides services in the best interest of patients. Following is the significance that is seen with the adoption of culture competency understanding of the relationship between the nurse and patients. It allows the implementation of the nursing care plan and improves the condition of patients. Secondly, it allows nurses to acquire knowledge of various cultures and viewpoints of the world (Drevdahl, 2018). Furthermore, it improves the communication skills that are promoting and achieving interaction among cultures. The positive influence of the adoption of the following practices will help in improving the nursing culture. Taking the inference from the given case study, nursing culture is having a different meaning for the placed nurses. Like Taylor states that " You don't want to ask questions because you don't want to get in people's but you need to. Jess states that sometimes there is a conflict between what we have learned to do and what is expected. Jess further adds that it is more about the consumer base ideology rather than care-based services (Chisholm et al., 2018). In addition, frustration comes when someone does not understand things. Taylor " it is hard to talk to somebody else who doesn't understand and has a little rant to. All these factors are depicting the nursing culture of the case study. The factors that impact nursing care will involve gaps in learning nurses do not have an idea of what is expected and what is learnt (Choi & Kim, 2018). Communication gaps create a challenge in terms of understanding what a patient is saying and what we are comprehending. All these circumstances will lead to frustration that makes the nurses unable to focus on the care. Therefore, the best practice is to improve the nursing culture that is possible with the cultural competency by which nurses can understand, communicate and interact with people effectively.

It teaches nurses how to behave in harmony not only with the patients but also with their surroundings. For example, Taylor states that while you do not wait to learn, you are still going to continue the learning process (Bagnall et al., 2018). It reflects that nursing culture will make the nurses learn various ways that are helping in improving the culture. The negative influence of the nursing culture will be seen in terms of getting involved in politics, a discussion that is a frustrating factor. Jess stated that " Politics bothers me; poor patient outcomes because of avoidable actions and instances bothers me". It is indicating that nurses sometimes get involved in unnecessary factors that are a bit critical and become the reason for poor performance. Henceforth, to deal with and address the following circumstances of the nursing culture, the implementation of caring principle science is recommended. It consists of the formation of a humanistic-altruistic system of values that makes the nurses practise the love-kindness that solves the challenges like vulnerability of the groups and pays attention to others (Thorp & Bassendowski, 2018). Second, is making installation of faith and hope that enables the belief system of care for self and one's other. Third is the cultivation of sensitivity to oneself and others which is nurturing the individual's beliefs, personal growth and practices. Lastly, developing helping-trusting authentic caring relationships (Sterchi et al., 2019). Altogether, the caring principles adoption in nursing settings will acknowledge the need for the transformation of traditional practices and provide a reliable way. It enhances the positive influence in the nursing culture and overcomes the negative outcomes.

For example, communication in universities and other practices where nurses get involved in informal communication while working in the hospitals makes the nurses learn the professional way of communication. A supportive nursing culture will help the nurses to be adoptive for communication in a team and allows knowledge about active listening and documentation (Philip et al., 2019). For example, Jess seems to be engaged in the activity of arranging the beds on a busy day. It requires communication within the team that is making nurses work effectively. Evidence-based practice is a process used for review, analysis and translation of the latest scientific evidence. The goal of evidence-based practices is to implement the resolution with the best clinical experience and preferences of patients (Ross et al., 2019). Nursing culture will act as a factor that keeps on supporting the nurses to work with the consumer-based ideology rather than care-based services. It is a holistic approach present that is making the nurses responsible for their practices. For instance: Jess stated that " I think I am moving toward a consumer-based ideology instead of a care-based service". It is enough to understand how nurses make themselves able to adopt to the transition in nursing practice (Brunton & Cook, 2018). Conflict resolution and management of tasks can be done with the understanding and being part of the nursing setting. In the regional hospital, the nurse is working within a multidisciplinary team that requires engagement, harmony and mutual understanding for a positive change. It makes the nurses get the outcomes that are expected and resolve any kind of conflict that is there. For instance: Jess is assigned to the patient and has to make a bed which is a little bit stressful (O'Hara et al., 2019). Jess stated that it was frustrating as getting involved in such politics is a bothering element. So, Jess decided to smile and then move on. That makes frustration to be overcome which allows working according to the nursing standard. Therefore, nursing culture will bring a positive impact that is seen in the context of adopting communication and active listening skills, stress management and conflict resolution. It makes the nurses work with the patient and other nurses to deliver the quality of care. Nursing culture opens up the door of learning that is helping nurses to be culturally competent. In the case study, it is seen that Taylor and Jess are facing difficulties in communication due to cultural barriers (Chun et al., 2018). Barriers to culture can be better addressed by learning cultural competency.

Impact of nursing culture in lifelong learning; taking the case study of sturt regional health service base hospital. Taylor and Jess reflected on their nursing culture that made the lifelong learning contribution. Taylor explained that you don't want to ask questions but you do. Jess states that they are kind toward me as a grad. They further explained that yes, conflict arises that is due to what we have learned and what is expected to learn. Jess further stated that healthcare settings are about the consumer base ideology that pushes more toward care. Jess explained that we have to deal with the frustration by which the patient outcomes are improved. With the case study, lifelong learning is attained in terms of providing a kind and supportive environment that will help the new nurses to get settled down in the new healthcare settings (Newton et al., 2018). It is found to be a positive aspect by which the nurses learn new things. Second is conflict resolution that is allowing the nurses to focus more on the care rather than involving in unnecessary arguments. Stress management can be promoted by having a conversation and understanding the need of the situation. Application of evidence-based practices is a way by which the hit and trial-based practices are eliminated and research-based practices are provided (Murray et al., 2019). It will save the cost, effort and error in the setting and help in elevating the level of patient care. Lastly, caring science principles by which empathy, compassion and understanding can be provided in healthcare settings. All these practices will make the best course of action that resolve the issue and make nursing standards to be applied.

The case study is about the locals caring for locals where the experience of new graduate nurses has been reported. Taylor and Jess, two nurses, are interviewed about their experiences in the nursing culture and the challenges they have been facing in healthcare. The primary aspect that is taken into consideration is the nursing culture that is impacting nursing care. Nursing culture is the term that is used to describe the healthcare environment and circumstances. Nursing culture is dependent on variable factors such as what is the support of the staff, what are the actions taken by other nurses and resources. Altogether, the factors will have an impact on nursing care. Therefore, it is important to maintain a positive and supportive environment that moulds the new graduate nurses in healthcare. To control the dynamics of healthcare settings, applying caring science principles is a way. Jean Watson's theory is a core that is covering the aspects of nursing. It will make application of relational caring for self and others, transpersonal caring relationship and promotes caring moments and caring occasions. The positive influence will be seen in the improvement of practices by nurses and give them lifelong learning.
